Central Intermediate held its 4th annual Veterans Day Assembly on Friday, November 11, 2016 in the gym. Families and veterans were invited to hear the sound of the CI Honor Choir led by Ms. Owens and listen to the history of each military branch from Mr. Brobst’s History Club.  Cub Scout Pack #142 Webelos 2 began the assembly by posting the colors and leading the Pledge of Allegiance. Ms. Owens then conducted the Honor Choir with “The Star Spangled Banner.”  Mrs. Shaw welcomed all of our veterans and their families, while sharing her own personal story of her late father’s service to our country in the Korean War.  Then the most moving part of the assembly was the singing of each branch of the military’s anthem with veterans standing to be applauded and recognized for their service to the United States.  The CI History Club wrapped up the assembly by sharing their research into each branch of the military.  Mrs. Shaw and Ms. Colvin would also like to thank the Patriot Guard for placing flags in front of the school before school so that they made quite a statement as students were arriving for the day and when our guests joined us for the assembly.

Make sure to thank a veteran and their family for the sacrifice they have made to this country.  We wouldn’t have the freedoms we have today if not for all the service these men and women have made to our country.  Thank you veterans!!
