Service is the character trait of the month at Central Intermediate.  Several things are taking place in the building to help students grasp a better understanding of what the word means and how to act upon it.  First, the United Way/Bixby Outreach Center fundraiser has started in the building and students are helping to contribute through buying pumpkin grams to send to friends in the building.  Second, the M.U.T.T.S. Club is holding its annual pet supply drive to collect and donate items to the Tulsa Humane Society.  Third, Student Council will be starting their canned food drive where each grade level is asked to donate certain items to build food baskets for the Bixby Outreach Center.  Next, our fourth graders are taking on Kid President’s challenge called “#socktober” where they are collecting packages of socks.  Finally, teachers are helping students understand the meaning of service so that they can continue to give back to their community beyond this month.
