Compassion.  Kindness.  Perseverance. Optimism. Victory. Just a few of the words that Central Intermediate is using to describe the journey that art teacher, Barbara Nuetzmann, is about to embark on as she battles breast cancer.  In a show of support, the Central Intermediate staff worked with American T’s to design and sell a t-shirt that lets Mrs. Nuetzmann know we are there for her as she gets ready to start chemo to defeat cancer.  American T’s is also expanding the shirt order to include anyone who would like to show their support, not only to Mrs. Nuetzmann, but anyone who is or has battled breast cancer.  A link is listed below where you can order your shirt.  It will be delivered to Central Intermediate and sent home with the student or parents and community members can drop by our office to pick up their shirt(s) when it’s delivered.  Any proceeds will be donated to Mrs. Nuetzmann’s medical care and costs.

Mrs. Newell will also have bracelets available for purchase.  Bracelets are red, blue, and pink with the hashtag #teamnuetzmann and “Her battle is our battle.” on them.  Bracelets cost $2 and again, proceeds will be donated to Mrs. Nuetzmann’s medical care.  Students can purchase the bracelets from any 5th grade teacher.

Our wonderful PTO also put together a gift card collection to supplement the meals that the CI staff organized under the leadership of Mrs. Purdie.  If you would still like to donate a gift card to a restaurant or grocery store, those can be dropped off in the CI office. The outpouring of support from our staff, students, parents, and community members has been overwhelming and such a blessing.
