Mrs. Jernegan’s 5th graders participated in a Blind Drawing Activity this week. They had to work together as a partnership to recreate the provided photo.

The “blind artist” could not look, using only the “talker’s” instructions to guide them. Students played round one with no questions allowed, switching roles for round two and gaining the access to the ever so important ability to question.

Students then discussed the need for strong, detailed communication when working together. They also brought up in discussion the importance of advocating for yourself and asking for clarification when needed. These 5th graders are off to a great start working collaboratively!
